Tao Chan Wing Chun philosophies

Kung Fu is not just a kind of "martial arts", where you hit each other like you want. The difference between a street bully and a kung fu fighter are the rules for fighters, the Chinese Wu De Code. Also, Ip Man has developed such a set of rules, which you can find on this page.

Basis of Kung Fu are the philosophies of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism and especially in the case of the Wing Chun of Zen / Chan Buddhism.

Therefore, these are taught during instruction, in daily life as well as in theory in higher levels and teacher levels in the Tao Chan Wing Chun Organization.

While most other organizations derive this knowledge from books and often misinterpret it, the Tao Chan Wing Chun Organization knowledge is coming directly from the original source.

Regarding Confucianism, Venerable Chi Sim got directly from the last descendant and head of the family of Confucius, Prof. Dr. Kong Teh-Cheng, who passed away in 2008, the written authorization to spread Confucianism in the West, especially because there are many misunderstandings.

Likewise, Venerable Chi Sim is an ordained Chan / Zen monk in direct lineage back to the founder of Shaolin, Bodhidharma, has completed a Buddhist university degree, a postgraduate degree in Buddhism, was previously a Buddhist novice monk of the Theravada tradition in Thailand and is now a teacher of Buddhism and responsible also for the training of new Chan monks and therefore, of course, can talk much more deeply about Buddhism and its relationship to Wing Chun than any good Wing Chun Sifu, who may be good at Wing Chun but who only has a superficial knowledge of Buddhism and is often not even a lay Buddhist.
